1. The first article's title is  How Big Is the "Great Pacific Garbage Patch"? Science vs. Myth, the second article's title is just Great Pacific Garbage Patch. 2. The Great Pacific garbage patch is a collection of marine debris in the northern part of the pacific Ocean. 80 Percent of the trash comes from land-based activities in North America and Asia, while 20 percent comes from boaters. Most of the garbage patch is made out of micro plastic, most of which is clear. The patch has been there since 1997.
3. The difference between the two articles is that one is published by a private company while the other is a governmental website.
4. The authors didn't really provide views as this was in informational article and not an editorial.
5. One detail from one article is that the patch is made mostly of micro plastic. This affected the meaning by telling the reader what the patch is.
6.  My opinion is that this patch should have never happened and that there should have been stricter laws in place to prevent it from happening. It should be scooped up with nets and then dried and burned. The government responsible for letting this happen should be made liable to clean it up.

2. According to the SAE there are 4 levels of autonomous cars, the first has basically no special features at all, maybe traction control, or an automatic gearbox. The second level is a vehicle which includes features such as automatic cruise control, and parking assist, in addition the vehicle may also have an automatic steering system. Level 3 is where the car can be in complete control in specific environments, such as high way driving. However the driver and all controls are present. Level 4 is where the car can drive itself in most situations but a driver may still need to be present. Level 5 id the final level where the car can completely drive itself and may not even need a human. One company that is putting autonomous cars on the road is Uber, they already have some Volvo XC90s on the roads of Philadelphia. One of the advantages of autonomous cars is that it makes it easier for people to get where they are going because they would be required to do less, work. One of the disadvantages of autonomous cars would be that, they cannot make some of the same discussions that humans can. For example if a dog and a small child both suddenly enter a roadway a human can break and attempt to swerve towards the dog more than the child but an autonomous car may aim for the child. 

3. The difference between the articles is that one describes some disadvantages of self driving cars as well as how they are seen in pop culture whereas the other article describes what people think of self driving cars.

4. Since the publisher for both articles were the same the views were similar. For example both authors believe that there is still something to be said about the joy of driving.

5. One detail that was present in only the Science Fiction article is how night rider predicted autonomous cars. This affects the meaning by showing what people thought of self driving cars in the 80s vs what they think of them now.

2. A Gigafactory is a battery factory constructed to produce batteries to use for vehicles. The company that is making the Gigafactory is Tesla.
3. The difference between the two articles is that the Forbes article focuses more on the financial side of things whereas the business insider focuses on the plant itself.
4. The author's points of view were conflicting because the business insider article says negative things about Tesla and it's Gigafactory and the Forbes article says mostly positive things about it.
5. One detail that the Business insider article offers is how many cars Tesla has produced for the last two years, whereas the Forbes article does not mention it.
6. My opinion of the Tesla Gigafactory is that Tesla needs to downscale it's production costs greatly to make cheaper cars, if they want to cater to the middle class to stay in business.

1. Paragraphs one and two help establish a tone that using silicon molecules can greatly benefit many industries and is more of a good thing than a bad thing. Two words that express this are "applications in several industries" and "environmentally friendly".
2. The tone the author sets by the phrase "…living organisms can be persuaded to make silicon-carbon bonds--something only chemists had done before." is a tone that a major breakthrough has been made and that silicone based lifeforms can be used for multiple industries.
3. The author is making this point to show that it's the first time that scientist have been able to use biology in a synthetic environment.
4. The word choice developed the tone by showing how much of a breakthrough this technology is and how it can be beneficial to businesses and the environment. The tone affects the meaning by telling the reader that the technology is the first to incorporate silicone in carbon based molecules. And the fist technology of it's kind.

1. Paragraph 1 and 2 help establish the tone by using words relating to robots such as "fully autonomous" and "The Terminator".
2. The tone the author is setting is a historical tone, this is because he wants to go back.
3. The author is making this point to explain how killer robots are a  reality and companies should prepare for them.
4. The authors word choice affects the article by showing how robots can affect business and companies.
